FAQ’s

  • Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine approach to treating a variety of conditions. The practice involves the insertion of thin needles (about the width of a human hair) into the skin, at specific points on the body.  A person may feel a small pinch that should dissipate quickly.

Acupuncture can restore the immune system, decrease pain, improve circulation, calm the nervous system and reduce inflammation in the body.

  • Initial visits generally last from 60 to 90 minutes. Follow-up visits are an hour. Your acupuncturist will take a detailed health history and provide you a unique treatment plan. Over the course of your treatments, your acupuncturist will spend time getting to know you and your health concerns.

We will do a Diagnostic exam, where we will check your pulse and ask to look at your tongue. These techniques help us determine the best treatment plan.

We then insert the needles, ensuring that you are comfortable and let you rest. A typical session can last from 25-30 minutes. We have relaxing music playing and sometimes people even take an "acu nap."

We may implement an adjunctive technique. Depending on your treatment plan, we may use electro acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, magnets, tuning forks and press tacks.
