Leah Chamberlin

Founder

Leah Chamberlin is the founder and owner of Great Blue Acupuncture since 2021. In 2024 Great Blue Acupuncture won the "Best of 207" Silver award. Leah is a board-certified Acupuncturist through the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She has been licensed to practice in Maine since 2016. With a Master’s from The New England School of Acupuncture in Newton, Massachusetts, she is certified in clean needle technique and auriculotherapy. Leah also holds her Facial Acupuncture CEU Certification after completing over 30 CEU credits in 2019.

For Leah, it all began in middle school when her mother brought her to an acupuncturist for anxiety and experienced great relief. She continued receiving and also shadowed different acupuncturists throughout school. After graduating with a BS in Business, she decided to take her education and career in a new direction.

Her degree encompasses four years of classroom and clinical training in both Eastern and Western medical theory and diagnosis. She was fortunate to have worked at Boston Medical Center in the Integrative Medicine Pediatric Pain Clinic, the Orthopedic Clinic at Malden Hospital, and various community clinics. Some of her specialty areas include cosmetic/facial rejuvenation acupuncture, chronic pain management, orthopedic style acupuncture (dry needling), anxiety and depression relief, pediatrics, and reproductive health.

Leah is passionate about helping people achieve a better quality of life. She aims to work together with her clients to regain and maintain health and wellness. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends and two greyhounds. She loves traveling, playing music, singing, and going on long nature walks with Rudi and Digit. It is Leah’s joy to practice acupuncture and her sincere hope to help you on your healing journey.

Sami Maldonado

Sami Maldonado, MAC, LAc, earned her master's degree in Acupuncture from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in conjunction with the New England School of Acupuncture. She is licensed in both Maine and Massachusetts and holds a national board certification with the NCCAOM.

While in school she studied Chinese medicine, with an additional focus in Japanese and Orthopedic acupuncture styles. Her current treatment style is a combination of these three methods. She uses cupping and moxa therapies, as well as tui na. She is certified in both aroma touch and a level 2 Reiki practitioner. Her undergraduate studies were in American sign language and early childhood development and education.

Sami works with community outreach and is actively involved with volunteering for Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation, a nonprofit organization committed to providing opportunities, equipment, and lessons for adults and children with disabilities to participate in a variety of activities. She enjoys her time with the program, which takes her on many outdoor adventures and introduces her to people from all walks of life. She also volunteers every summer for the Veterans no Boundaries summer camp and Camp Wavis, offering free acupuncture and cupping to disabled veterans.

Sami is an advocate for movement as medicine and believes our food is what fuels us. Her school and life experience have taught her that eating well and keeping our bodies in motion are vital steps on the path to feeling our best. She uses her knowledge and experience to help her clients design and implement plans for healing and prevention of disease.

Sami has lived in Maine her whole life and is now raising her daughter here. She hopes to retire somewhere warm someday but for now enjoys the closeness of her friends and family, as well as the many opportunities to connect with nature that Maine provides.

Rebecca Bittner

I went to school for Medical Office Administration in 2016 and have been working in healthcare ever since. I truly love being able to help patients navigate our complex medical system while maximizing their care.

I moved to Maine 4 years ago when I married my husband. Together we reside in Gorham with our two children, our two cats and a new addition, a rescued Boston Terrier. In my spare time, I love to read, travel with my family, build Legos, cook, and in the summer, hang out by the pool. I have fallen in love with Maine and its beauty and love exploring the state.
